I meant the light housing, cluster, lens, thingy where you put the bulbs. When you had no cornering light the ground was a convenient common denominator. Your update that the cornering light works changes that since you obviously have ground for the cornering light. You should start with a test light or voltmeter and see if there is any voltage at the DS turn signal connector using a known good ground elsewhere. Use a voltmeter to measure the resistance from the ground wire to a known good ground. I would also check the hazard and flasher relays; pull them out and check to see if the contacts are clean and tight. If they are the same part number, swap them and see what happens. The flashing rear light makes me think you either have a high resistance switch connection somewhere or a bad ground.
