You my find out you can get a new one for close to the same payment since new car interest rates are generally better than used. Plus, GM has new money to loan and is eager to sell.

Actually, ANY GM dealer can run that vin for you. Ask for a detailed build sheet or detailed RPO sheet. Ask for another report that shows maint history at GM; that will also show if vehicle has had a BLOCKED warranty. Same report will show date of manufact and date when vehicle first went into service.
