| Re: engines swap There's more than meets the eye involved here.....the 2 years saw significant changes in drivetrain mechanical and electrical, so there's suspension and wiring (connector) work, too. The cooling system has differences in piping and radiators, as well as fan controls. As you know, the VIN 9 uses a 3.71 final drive and the VIN Y uses 3.11, so transmission and speed sensor output is different. The console change is also mechanical and electrical, as well as trim and carpet. The security, key, and sound system figures in here, too, as they're all inter-related.
I think the swap could be done with patience and a good shop to work in, but it will be way, way more than a simple drop-in. |
