Hooking it to the connection on the orginal battery is safe and works very well. Easy to get to and you dont have to get under the truck. Just run the cable along either the front or the back of the engine compartment, tire it up and ride on!!

The setup that I used for this post is the setup from the Tahoe Police truck, there are several ways to do the hookup, I just followed what the factory did.
