Re: performance upgrades

It's all a matter of opinion. And I have no intention of getting in a discussion.
My opinion is that K&N is a very large company with a a lot to lose.

Here is their position and I believe them since they have exposed themselves to huge class action liability if they are lying.
Besides, I have used K&N for 20 years with absolutly no problem......other than having overzealous mechanics throw them away and put in a junk Fram.
I currently have a K&N on my 2003 Murano that has been reoiled and reused 4 times. It has been on for 4+ years.
My Chrysler T&C was sold after 7 years with a 6 year old K&N that had been reoiled several times.

Here is what K&N has to say about it.

And here is what K&N testing has shown.

(One thing to take away from this is that when your mechanic says that the MAF is bad......he may well be wrong.)

There is no way for us consumers to actually know with certainty.
So the easiest and safest would be to not use the K&N.

I will buy mine and install it at the 8-10 mile point on my DTS.
And I will clean it and reoil it every 8-10,000 miles or so.
