Uh that was a joke.....
None of that cheap stuff on eBay will do anything for performance.'
Actually it is easy, but not particularly cheap, to get more HP out of a normally aspirated engine.
Why didn't GM do it if it is so easy?
GM has to build to govt regulations.
They have no choice.
THEY know that a Cold Air, low restriction, input together with a low restriction Catalytic, feeding a low restriction exhaust system would give them 10% or more , power. But they also know they would fail the sound regulations and besides many people buy big cadillacs BECAUSE they are quiet.
But we are not restricted.
We can add CAIs and Flow thru Mufflers and cats.
IF (and that is a BIG IF) they are available..........I don't have any desire to do these things anymore (Usta do this stuff all the time but somewhere in my late 60s, I "matured". Lol!)
A good CAI should run in the neighborhood of $300, a flow thru cat would be maybe $200 and a good flowthru muffler $400/600 as a guess.
Of course there would be costs associated with the exhaust pipes, labor etc.
Done correctly, this won't disturb the ECU and it should net you 25/40 HP on a DTS I would think
Anyway, that's the easiest way to get more HP and TQ out of a standard factory engine and IMO this will not hurt your warranty. There is a thing called the Magnusson-Moss act that should protect you.
