Re: To all who love toyota< admire toyota and think they are a breath of fresh air

Perhaps, if there is a bailout perhaps a tax on all auto makers doing business in the US to spread the cost of the Big Three's pension and healthcare cost and level the playing field. I think turning over pension and healthcare cost for the auto workers to the federal government and thus the taxpayer isn,t solving the problem in the long run. Should there be a competitive edge given to those who arrived late in the game after the market had already been created (let's face it the wages and benefits of the auto industry went a long way in creating an affluent middle class in the US) to allow newcomer's to come in and exploit the marketplace without paying the true cost. seems foolish. First came VW then Toyota et al. now Hyundai and let's not forget Cherry on the horizon. If the trend continues unabated the American middle class will be pushed back to pre-WW2 levels of prosperity.
