| Re: building a fireplace for camping Best stove EVER is the one my grandpa made out of 5 car rims welded into a vertical tube. A vent at the bottom controls how much air goes in, controlling burn rate and heat. A small chimney running outside keeps you from suffocating. This thing will get red hot in about 30 minutes and is enough to heat a poll barn (20 foot peak, but also insulated) that is about 30' by 40'.
