| Re: Noise When Breaking It could be a bolt. There is a bolt that allows the pistons (pads) to retrack after the brake pedal is released. If the bolt is not straight, lubricated correctly or aligned, the pads may be hampered from retreating off the rotor (thus causing the scraping you describe). It could also be a bad caliper (to begin with); it sounds as they tried the least costly corrective measure to alleviate the problem. I wouldn't be surprise if they ultimately need to change the caliper proper before it's done. Good luck with the repair, and not to be a preacher about grammer/spelling but you should use the correct 'brake/braking', not break/breaking (as in broken). |
