C5 and C6 calipers are the same. Along with the 05-06 GTO calipers. The mounting brackets are different. Especially on the GTO's. If you want to use the 05 goat calipers you would need to change hubs, which would intail changing wheels to match the new lug pattern. However you CAN use a C5-C6 pad on the 04 Goat caliper and that will give you better braking. I just got a set of 04 GTO calipers and they look identicle to my Camaro SS calipers. Just another piece of info, alot of people on LS1tech do a C5 brake upgrade, however it is also known that the C5 calipers have less clamping pressure than the Fbody calipers due to having smaller pistons. But it is still an upgrade because there is more surface area on the C5 rotor. |
