| Paint problem - please advise I bought a new 2008 CTS Labor Day weekend. At that time I noticed that the paint (black) had what appeared to be water spots in the paint. The salesman told me that it just needed buffed, but they could not do it because it was the weekend. She guaranteed me they would come out with the buffing, and wrote me a work order to allow me get it buffed anywhere. Well, on Monday I returned the car to the dealer to get it buffed. They buffed and buffed, and then told me that the spots will Not come out, they are IN the paint. They said I needed to speak with the GM factory rep, who would not be in town for 6 - 8 week!!!! In the meantime, they have buffed off all the wax, and did NOT rewax the car. I live in Arizona (100 + degrees today), but bought the car in Las Vegas (nearest true Cadillac dealer) 2 1/2 hours drive away. I am concerned that the car does not have any wax, however I am worried that if I wax the car, they will blame the spots on me. The dealership told me that they will most likely repaint the car. I find this unacceptable because they will never get the paint as good as a "factory" paint job. The car looks much worse after the buff than it did before.
What I am asking this group for is some suggestions on what I should do, and what I should ask the dealership/factory to do. I feel like they should give me a new car, but I don't know if that is reasonable. hat would you do, and has anyone heard of anything like this before????
