Despite many convincing explanations, a "V" was chosen to denote Cadillac's High Performance line as a nod to Cadillac's history of producing the first V8 and V16 engines in a production automobile.
The phrase "V for Velocity" was later used in factory advertising campaigns, and although catchy, is not what the V actually stands for. |
