Elitist? If you're worried about the prospective buyers setting themselves up for the heartache of expensive repairs that may overextend their budget, you could sit down & explain that to them so they can weigh the pros & cons for themselves. I agree that there are people who haven't given much thought to "why" a Caddy is so luxurious, so they're not fully aware of the all the special gizmos that make the car special but can be expensive to repair / replace / retrofit.

If, on the other hand, you're worried about the "quality of care" your STS will get after you sell it, then you're more like a parent worrying about your baby being in good hands after "leaving home" so to speak. If you strongly feel that way, and if the question of car care in someone else's hands really weighs on you, should you be selling the car at all? Just a thought...
