If your interest is the former, do whatever you want. If the latter, as Seattle says, unsprung weight is what you DON'T want ... do the powder coating of the stock wheels.
Personally, I'd save for a maggie, headers, cat back, StealthV tune, shifter, Hotchkis, GC, Nutz' rearend ... let's see, what'd I forget?
Ultimately, it's your choice, but you did ask what we thought.
