Thanks PJL, I have a few more questions for you then.

Does it have to catalog it every time you turn the car on (I'm guessing yes)?
If so, does it allow you to play from another device (HDD, radio, ...) while it is doing it?

If I load 10,000 songs on the drive, and it takes 15-20 minutes to catalog it, am I better off spending the extra money on a 80 or 160 Gig iPod?

Have you tried a DVD loaded with mp3's?
