Are there at least some spec's out there somewhere that say the drive has to be a supported format etc...
When we were test driving cars, I put one of the flash drives in the Lincoln MKX, and it recognized it right away.

I have used a Western Digital, 250Gb portable drive with no problems. I have also successfully use a 2Gb "PLAIN" flash drive . I tried a 4Gb Sandisk Cruzer with U3 - this did not work until I removed the U3 capability and made it a "PLAIN" FLASH DRIVE.
