I sometimes buy extended warranties. Always from the dealer. Always after a difficult negotiating session.
My 03 Z06 went in for warranty only for leaking rear diff seal. It is a common problem. Loved that car. My 07 Z06, purchased in Aug 06, hasn't had an issue at 9000 miles, except I can't figure out why I'm on my second set of rear tires. It is clearly the best car I've ever owned. Zero complaints except the mystery of the disappearing rear tire rubber. Do you suppose the Corsa exhaust and Halltech intake contribute to the problem or is it all driver induced and not covered by warranty?
On a side note, the only warranty work on our 2000 S4 Audi has been the mass air flow sensor. Otherwise, the miles are trouble free. Been lucky I guess. Regular maintenance doesn't hurt either.
