Caveat Emptor. Yes sir!

The key phrase is "aftermarket" warranty, versus "factory warranty". I have saved thousands of $$ with the GMPP warranty. I assumed the policy for $50 from the previous owner of my Corvette when I bought it with 50,000 miles on it and it had a zero deductible. If it weren't for that warranty, I would have had to shell out for:

2 brand new rear rims
turn signal/emergency flasher module
water pump seal
DIC control module
Driver seat track replacement

and several other items I can't think of at the moment.

I thought long and hard about renewing it for another 36 mos/24k mi when the time came, but wound up buying the renewal. I don't know what the dealer would normally charge to replace the entire instrument cluster (my guess would be LOTS), but that's already been covered by the new GMPP policy. I was ineligible to get another zero deuctible policy on my GMPP renewal, but my dealership pays my $100 deductible if I have the car repaired there, so the net cost is still zero for any covered warranty repairs. I guess it depends on the car, maybe, but for me, the GMPP has turned out to be a good deal. I will be buying another policy on the CTS.
