I know better than to never say never; BUT....I doubt that we'll ever see a diesel in any Cadilac platform in the U.S. Market.
THe 2.9 Turbo diesel is a "must" for the Euro market if for no other reason than offering this alternative due to increasing runaway Euro gasoline prices and not so much for CAFE standards or performance.
The BLS has to come to the United States in order to attract more entry level buyers based on price and perceived quality as the CTS portfolio in its various trim levels continues to rise.
You will continue to see more RPO trim options availble in the CTS and a corresponding increase in base price as well for the 2 door coupe as a traditional hardtop without the B pillar and the same as a retractable hardtop convertible.
