You begin by essentially telling people to keep their opinions to themselves and then wrap things up by playing the patriotism card? Something is amiss...
Sandy, you are an intelligent guy whose opinions are well (and for the most part, deservedly) respected here. I would have thought that getting offended because some (okay, many) of us do not share those opinions would be beneath you.
For my part, I am
very opinionated, and I don't think anyone would accuse me of being shy about it. If a manufactured product is crap, I'm not going to pretend it isn't simply because my opinion may tread upon someone else's preconceived notions or nostalgic feelings of said product.

Face it, the best cars Chrysler has managed to produce to date have been based upon designs inherited from Daimler. If I wanted an old Mercedes design, I'd buy a W140, save $20k, and have a star that actually
means something on the hood.
