ISC does not own Pocono, it's privately owned by the Mattioli family......it's a sad thing to see, a wonderful racetrack with no infusion of cash to improve it

The track still has its original paving job that dates back to 1971.

The only thing NBC ever wanted to promote is the Olympics.

I knew CART raced at Pocono back in the day, just never saw it til now. One of the biggest, if not the biggest straights are at pocono correct?

racermac1988, COOL....i'll agree with you on that to an extent. but you have to understand, they aren't going to come out and say that it's because of i.s.c. they aren't going to say that promotion of the event sucks. they are always going to say the politically correct thing. p.c. aside...indycar fans should be up in fucking arms because now we have a united series and NO TRIPLE CROWN!!

That was one of the reasons they gave in the "Downforce" meeting at Kentucky.
Personally, I don't think it is. The track was just as bumpy before they paved the track in 1994 and they raced there.
That and as we all know, ISC doesn't promote IndyCar like they should.

Is Michigan too bumpy for IndyCars?
I read somewhere that was the case for Pocono in the 80s. |
