Cadillac CTS: Interior and Exterior Lights

Designers put a lot of thought into every aspect of a car, inlcuding the lighting. With new technological advances and creative-thinking from the CTS design team, the 2008 Cadillac CTS has one of the most innovative lighting systems around. At a recent Cadillac Press Event, automotive journalists were given an inside look at the CTS' lighting system. Kevin Smith, Cadillac Communication Director, John Howell, Cadillac Product Director and John Manoogian, Lead Exterior Designer were on-hand to explain the importance of great lighting.

What the hell are these guys thinking? M-division in BMW wasn't made over night, it is build in terms of quality and reputation for decades and decades, and now what?Someone is gonna make a fast car, and just take over M-Division in terms of performance, handling, comfort....??? Instead of embarrassing yourselves like that, try and learn something from the Germans, the ARE the big boys in the car world today.

I'm very active in CCA events, especially the tech sessions at dealers garages. Having restored 3 BMWs I agree with you whole heartedly. Nothing compares to BMW. Not MB, not Porsche. They come apart and go back together perfectly. Nothing built like BMW, nothing drives like BMW.

I sell at a Cadillac dealership. I also drive a 3 series. You can't compare a $60,000 V series to a $100,000 M5. It's unrealistic. Is the V an amazingly hot car? Yes. Is it a better driving experience than ANY other American car? Yes. Can you compare it to an M5? Hell no. To get a driving experience any better you have to go to the BMW, and that is a hell of a testimony for a car. To the skeptics> Your supercharged Mustangs just got destroyed by a 4 door family car, in Handling and acceleration

yeah, the base model 2008 cts v6 VVT comes with throttle body injection. I can't believe anybody still makes that crap.

The Tucker '48, (aka the Torpedo), built in Chicago, had turning headlamp in the 1940's, 20 years before that. Sorry frenchy!

everyone talks about the cts-v blowing the doors off of the M division of BMW thats all well and good for horsepower ratings and all, but the M5 alone outsells the entire v-series lineup in America. thats something cadillac should be trying to fix rather than just making a straightline fast car.

Great, but BMW is leading the way when it comes to SIGNITURE lighting technology. A Cadillac could be recognizable from the rear for years. It's only very recently that they have made Cadillacs distinctive in the front. Audi is trying that 12 LED thing below the headlights but its not working well for all their models. Very nice video though.

The Citroen DS had turning headlamps that turned over 20 degrees in 1965, thats a old idea.

Citroen has turning headlights on the DS models that turned more than 20 degrees in 1965
