i dont thing its fair to say this is a joker only movie. look at the screentime of the joker. hes not so much in the film like bale or eckardt. batman is still the motor

hm i dont think that the rest of the cast is meh. eckhardt for example gives a great performance too. also bale imo. but the thing is that ledger plays such a fenzy role that he always steals the show. so i think its not only his great play but also the nature of his character the joker. best supporting actor? hard to say. he deserves at least a nomination. fenzy characters are always easy to nominate but sometimes subtly acting is also oscar worthy. lets wait till the year ends

See that's the thing: Ledger overpowers everyone in TDK; it's HIS movie, and Christian Bale/Batman is basically along for the ride, like Michael Keaton was in the Tim Burton version. In IRON MAN, Downey is the hub on which the whole movie turns. He IS Tony Stark. He deserves a lot more kudos for his performance than Bale does for his Batman. Thinking about it, TDK should have just been called "The Joker," because at least it wouldn't have felt so strange when he stole the show.

Actually, I thought TDK was not 5-star restaurant, but maybe a really high-end 4-star chain restaurant. I mean, yeah, Heath Ledger is greater than anybody else in the movie, but take him out and the rest of the performances = meh. Maggie G. was so bad that she made me miss Katie Holmes. Morgan Freeman seemed really flat and overly moralistic. Still good, Heath is AMAZING. Would you nominate Heath for best actor or best supporting actor at the Oscars?
