yeah san shou is the correct term in mandarin, although it is commonly known as san da around the world. wushu itself was very much engineered with a strong russian influence, at least modern wushu.

being a little bit nationalist(altought I'm not chinese...jeje)sanda does come from the chines fighting styles in both stricking, kicking and wresstling,not from western styles.The combat sports are a piece of every nations folkore,as for chinese they have lots of styles.How many ways r there to trhow a hand strike with a boxing glove?can u strike with palms? can we say that western boxing took the technics from wushu??Btw Colopity, is wushu-sanshou cuz it's in pinyin,or mosut-sanda in cantonese
