Hi Bre,
This is an amazing video, congratulations. It's so cool. I'll try it out soon.
Hey, I have an old Speak and Spell (Texas Instruments), but its basically dead right now (something burned inside). I'd really like to fix it, for its a powerfull tool to teach English to kids (I´m from Mexico). Do you know if there's something I can do about it? I don't believe they make 'em anymore, and the ones they sell in Ebay are just as rotten as mine. Can you help me?
Thanks Bre

You can get guidebooks at your local library, bookstore or electronic repair supplier (e.g. Radio Shack.)
Soldering takes practice, but it's well worth the effort, and I seriously recommend a good pair of safety glasses for at least desoldering, if not most tasks with the soldering iron.
(BTW, I prefer using a combination of a desoldering bulb and a desoldering wick for removing components. The bulb is reusable, but less precise, the wick is the most precise method but disposable.)
