My guess is this is in the US... and what's happening is the guy switched from mph to kph--the numbers don't change, just how fast the needle moves to reflect the different measurement. So, yes, technically it only goes up to about 100mph, when in the kph mode. It's easier to switch with cars that have digital readouts for speed.

:( my SRX flipped off the side of the highway onto its roof at 70 km/h. i got cut off on both sides while making a turn. Great car...saved my life. not to mention sexy and fast as hell. One time i got it up to 170, and it was barely even trying.
