Punk wasn't a movement, bowel movement maybe, but not a movement. It was a label. The same spirit and energy that went into a 45 Grave, or a Germs, etc. can exist anywhere at anytime. 45 Grave were part of an extraordinary period of growth and artistic expression in rock and roll music. That specific time has passed, but many great bands and scenes followed and continue today. The kids weren't THERE twenty years ago, but they are HERE now! Fuck the secret exclusive punk club, get over yourself.

Is punk supposed to sound pretty or something?
Rockospoogie (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Yes. Deathrock was deeply alternative. Another good band at the time was Christian Death, also don't forget Burning Image.

God... to all the kids who got critical remarks... All I can say is this IS punk and was what punk came from.... Trust me, if you were there is 82 and into punk you would have gotten it and theres no explaning it if you a poser who grew up 20 years after the movement. |
