If the stupid tree-huggers would lighten up a little we would be out of Iraq by now. our only reason for being in there right now is to maintain good relations because we buy a lot of our oil from them. If we just tapped into our own reserves until an effecient alternative fuel source was marketed then we wouldnt give a shit about the middle east.

you make a point bebobebo in a way whenever you talk about them controlling the world. In the sense of the phrase "controlling the world" we think of it as the entire planet. Back when the British were in power for the most part the world was sparsely populated compared to today so in turn they didnt have to control as much to control the world and they controlled it in general through Commerce Supremacy and generally owned overseas trading.
