Well of course the CTS-V has more HP, because it's heavier. GM knew what they had to do to beat the M5, and they did it. I wonder what BMW are thinking of now to get back on top again, as I'm sure they are.

Yes, 10ths of a second can be varied between different drivers. I think that is very true which is way I have seen every 09 cts-V vs M5 race I can and I have never seen a stock M5 beat a Stock Cts-v. Have you??? If so can you please show me? even when BWM sent an M5 and their own Race car driver to the Monticello Motor Club for the Road and Track comparo they still lost, the M5 just can not beat the Cts-v. Better luck next year, tell them to try FI, it seems to have worked for Cadillac!!

Sadly, I would have to agree that the Zr1 beating the GT-R is a bit hallow, the real comp should have been $70K Z06 vs $70K GT-R, which I think the GT-R would have a much better chance of winning. But the CTS-V is just a better car then the M5 at every turn. cost less, more power, better ride, easier to maintain out of warranty, Better MPG, And faster in a race on the freeway,streets,and around the track. the M5 cost more and what you get is a car that can do nothing better then a Cts-V!!

These american cars tests sucks and they are so untrue (because european and japanese cars are gaining terrain in USA). Has anyone seen the Skyline GTR vs Corvette zr1 ??? LOLOL. a 3.8 L VS 6.2 L??! and the times are so close ! LOOL!! and in the end, the idiots lie about GTR saying that makes 0.8 g´s turning, and it makes 1.0g´s turning IN THE RAIN!!

MT IS FULL OF CRAP and this guy is an idiot. "Motown spanks Munich" 0-60 difference = 1/10th of a second (drivers will differ) 1/4 mile difference = 2/10th of a second (drivers will differ) braking = IDENTICAL cornering gs = CITED AS IDENTICAL (but MT says CTSv edged the M5 - clearly inconsistent and untrue) CTSv is...at best EQUAL, cheaper, and yes actually CHEAPER. Run them over a mile and the M5 driver will be stopped and taking off his seatbelt when the Caddy gets to the same point
