That's the best/most accurate definition I've heard so far.

There's a big fat clue in Muddy's 'Mojo Working' (as in, 'I've got my mojo working').
A mojo is a spiritual force that possesses the musician, subverting his conciousness and turning him into a conduit between this world and some other dimension, through which cosmic music flows.
Wishing for a mojo hand is simply hoping for a permanent anatomical hardwired connection to your mojo, so that you can access it whenever you want to!
Now... THAT would be nice!

He tunes his guitar higher than standard tuning. I like the pull-off on the high E from
12th-9th-open on his little lead break. He is the real deal, but his playing is technically easier to imitate than guys like Missippi John Hurt or Skip James. It's more like early rock than Delta or Piedmont blues styles.

more or less right, but not exactly...youre really talkin about a gris gris bag....a 'hand' is something more specific, something that goes inside the bag......its a root shaped like a human hand, sometimes called five finger root..i dont know the real name of it....but it comes from some kind of orchid...

My Dad is 60 and used to play Muddy, Wolf and Lightnin' around the house when I was growing up in the 70's/80's.
I've never been able to get enough of it.
Now I play it around the house and my 7 year old son is hearing it 8)
