Those runs probably werent long enough to damage a well tuned motor, especially considering that he wasnt at wide open throttle the whole time. And if it did Traxxas has a nifty little lifetime engine replacement plan. So you wouldnt be out too much money when it came time to put a new motor in.

How much would a high speed run this long affect the life/performance of the engine?
Very cool video. Always wanted to do this... Just won't do it because of the stress it puts on the little engine.
