Nice work GM! I'll bet he had the climate control running and the On-Star looking for a good place to grab lunch after the record breaking run. Sorry Euros....the Yanks set the benchmark. You can make excuses, but the hottest sedan is a Caddy. If I could afford one, I'd buy one.

the new porshe 911 carrera S with a manual will do a 8:01. that means this 2 ton american 4 door car which is from the company that makes old people cars will be able to outrun stutgart's finest. Great job GM.

If he had used the 6 speed manual, wouldnt he have got a way better time?

Awsome video. Kudos to GM & the folks at Caddy for building an amazing vehicle. Sub-8 minutes run at the infamous Nurburgring! It's good to see some American iron kicking ass on euro turf.

I had an 04 CTS-V, I would buy it again, but I cant say the build quality was all that. The rear diff went on me (as it did with many 04-05's) The radio buttons always peel (very common), and the sunroof button broke on me 2x's. All of this was fixed under warranty so it didnt bother me, knowing I could blow away STi's and Evo's at will and all while playing DVD's, sitting on heated/powered seats, and a bunch of other luxuries. Plus I would walk M3's and M5's, and MOST AMGs.

Yes, that sub 8 minute time for the Nordschleife was achieved by a GM test driver. All I can say, very impressive! |
