2009 Toyota Matrix XRS by Edmunds' Inside Line

The 2009 Toyota Matrix is supposed to be very influential, just as the original Matrix proved when it was introduced in 2003. This tall wagon-style compact based on the Toyota Corolla had a sport-utility flavor but drove like a car, making it one of the first crossovers with an affordable price tag. Its big backseat and dog-friendly cargo bay made utility kind of cool. Without the Matrix, the Mazda3 five-door, Scion xB and even the Audi A3 might not have achieved the coolness they have today.

this car looks sharp. i like the package of matrix: reliable, practical, decent mpg, and fun to drive. its a winning package.

Don't believe the EPA MPG on the Matrix. My S AWD is rated 20/26 Initially I was getting 20/27. Three months and 2500 miles later I'm getting 22/34MPG! with a full load 70MPH and A/C! The XRS is rated 21/28MPG Hmmmmm?

Toyota, I still choose it over any other car. It's a good car, it's Toyota. Better lasting than any other made.

You said it, American own car suck. I want a Toyota Matrix xrs myself and was looking forward to buy one. Go for qualities and reliable. Don't buy it for it's looks.

well, if you were trying to say feminine, then that's ok since i'm a girl. but if anyone reads this answer this question: is it true that volkswagen was bought by an american car company? if it was, then i don't want a VW since american cars suck.
