incorrect. "H" refers to "hard B" which is actually a B natural. whereas the western B flat is called "B". I know, it sounds ridiculous but "H" actually refers to the note being difficult to play on certain instruments.

I just installed a pickup into my Melodica. Check out my initial testing. It was early in the morning when the glue had set, so its a bit dark

an H note is german notation for a B flat.

indeed you have lol.
alexbericheath (August 15, 2008 at 3:31 pm)
Fair enough, some people name notes H. I take it back then. I've been misinformed :)
bobcaygeonfrench (August 15, 2008 at 3:29 pm)
No, you're wrong. H notes exist in all intruments usging standard tuning and standard scales. It just depends on how you choose to name the notes.
alexbericheath (August 15, 2008 at 10:32 am)
Yeah, that would be using a scale involving quarter tones. I assumed that because he was using a standard melodica then the H note wouldn't be involved lol.

I believe it's a Hohner. I have one in green but mines like 20 years old. A lovely instrument but not as good a range as the ones with the 'straw' on them. |
