Fact update: This was taken in 1991, on the Seibu-Ikebukuro Line. Since it's an express train, the next train will get to Ikebukuro (the terminal stop) about ten minutes later (remember that everyone is in a hurry). There are 30,000,000 people in the Tokyo area (including Kanagawa, Chiba, & Saitama), and over 100,000,000 in the whole country. And the guys on the platform are not police.
