His name was probably Tuffy before Nibbles, maybe because they thought Nibble's was a better name for him because he loved to eat alot

So what is the little cutie's name then? My daughter and I can never agree. I thought it was Tuffy; she thinks it's Nibbles.

This, and several other Tom & Jerry cartoons from the 1949-'50 period, were reworked into CinemaScope in 1956-'57, 'ma', because the demand for "wide-screen" cartoons at the time was such that Hanna-Barbera had to "remake" the ones they felt "held up best" in wide screen, until they could conceive new stories to animate...the elimination of "Short'nin Bread" on the soundtrack, with the scene of Tom "blacked out" via a lit candle, was probably because using that gag again might be "offensive".

But what happened to the SHORTENIN BREAD music?
