Yoshi is so poor that despite having many counter moves against meta he is still only a 50:50. DK is to easily gimped. If you think diddys forward tilt counts as a counter to tornado then i disagree. he is a neutral at the very best. Falco counters the tornado but his recovery is so easily gimped that theres no way you can count him as a counter.

The ONLY thing that actually makes Brawl a "terrible competitive game" is tripping, which can be circumvented by: A.) Making a rule that replays matches won by random tripping, 1-stock would work best. B.) Hack, but I advise against it. About Ice Climbers and Dedede, why is fd legal?!!?! Bowser can't beat Dedede without platforms, that's broken by definition. In Melee, Falco can just spam his darn laser and then infinite Bowser just by jabbing, DI doesn't work well enough.

I dunno. Metaknight pretty much has no counter except perhaps DK. DK is a counter at a stretch really. He's overpowered but not overpowered enough to be banned.
