thyroid cancer COULD have been prevented with just a pill. perhaps they gave them postasium iodine pills... i have some, just in case.
we dont konw 100% what sort of preparations they made..

Wow. first the building burn, then the shockwave. Those people were only a mile out?? Back in the 50s they did that all the time on the islands, the reporters being right there when the bombs were detonated. The were all probably dead within 3 years from cancer...they didnt know any better. My parents had a friend that was part of the nuclear marines..they would light off bombs with the marines stationed near the blast to test the effects on the troops..now he is sterile..cant have any kids..

Nuclear weapons have kept the peace (as in a world war) due to MAD. Fear of nukes is justified, but I don't know about "locked down". But it is an interesting point.
