I don't think you can make generalizations about skin color and who wants to take away our freedoms.
It was actually Ray Nagin and his police chief who ordered the illegal confiscation of weapons after Katrina. Nagin is no better than Bush in this regard.

Oracle, I wonder if the deep-seated disbelief that "our great government" could "do THAT to us" is based in fear of the consequences "if they did", or a general belief that our higher-elected officials are somehow altruistic and indemnified from any corruption. After all, "I voted for him, so he can't be all bad".
In other words, to admit corruption on the part of the creep for which we voted is to admit we made a mistake. And who likes to admit their mistakes?

Anyhow, isn't it strange that we can show someone the very page in Rockfeller's book where he admits to his efforts, yet they still deny it.

Tone is hard to convey in regards to text. Sarcasm is carried in the tone of voice. Without knowing your previous post history i would never be able to know your intent. Where as if we were speaking, tone would be much easier to catch.
