naa i recon something, be it his wife leaving him or w.e, has totally devastated him. The Timer is the clock to his suicide and the explosion represents him jumping off the balcony. "I've got something on my chest and i..." need to get it off he was going to say. As in he needs somebody to talk to about his problems, but theres nobody, he can't find the phone, hes got no friends, 911 or 999 w.e don't want to know about his shit (lol), so the count down continues until BAM. hes dead.

My idea is that this guy began to die the moment his girlfriend dumped him/ wife divorced him. We can see his room - his life, or rather the remains of it. He's alone. And falling lower and lower day after day. He's dying inside and nothing can change it. It's not a kind of thing you can call the police or a doctor for. It's happening inside. And no struggle can help him.
