It is capable, but they must be converted into another format which the Kindle reads, and I think Amazon offers a converter on their web site.

im sorry maybe someone has asked this before, but can anyone tell me if this device is capable of reading documents such as: .doc, .pdf, .rtf..... ?????? i mean if i load this type of documents onto an sd card, will i read them on kindle? thanx

So kindle is more for reading heavy books and easy access newspapers with glare. Amazon should have made it more customizable so that you can ad to it the pdf-files you already have directly from a PC. I don't think the scrolling is possible with the "etch-a-sketch" technology, nether good color or touch screen. Is it good in displaying math symbols and formulas?

seeing as you have one maybe you could anwser some questions for me. Do you know how much it costs to convert your word doc onto the kindle? How do you pay for the bill does it go on to a credit card?

I love my Kindle...had it 3 months, easy to use and to read in bed, on a plane, or a Drs. office..just read "Justifiable Homicide", I recomend it as a serious polemic and satire ...especially in view of who is running for GOP VP....Kindle has all the other electronic books beat, hands down! |
