I say that the plane that carries the X-37 at 5:32 is not the Proteus but the White Knight.

Be my guest. My focus was primarily on the work done at Edwards, but if you want to make some of your own, please do.

so why not post a video with every aircraft ever made, and label it "The X Planes"?
scismgenie (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Any aircraft in the Experimental Phase of development IS an X-plane.

nice overall
I just don't understand why the F-105 was in here, or even the YF-23 ... by this logic, any new aircraft during the test flight phase would be an "X" plane

true. the A12 was single seat and the SR-71's predecessor. It was operated by the CIA. There is one sat on the deck of the USS Intrepid air museum in NYC. There was also the YF-12 that was a high speed, high altitude interceptor design to intercept soviet bombers long before they got into striking range of the US.

AS far as i know there is more then one version of the Sr-71 black bird. and the A-12 is one of them.

You still can see some of these aircraft useing Google Earth at Area 51, and the Aircraft Graveyard..

If you have Google Earth, then look up Area 51. Also, look up The Aircraft Graveyard. Area 51 has the longest runway in the world. And if you even have the Free addition of Google Earth, Zoom in on the aircraft graveyard. Amazing what you will see! The Paying Version is much Better Though! |
