LOL. No one calls it the sand pit unless you know. The sand box is also accepted. It doesn't matter if you wear the uniform, it's just we do appreciate the support and kind words more than you know. I walk around in DC, and I'm in another country. They love us and come up to us and want to talk about the War and how do we feel. I go back to Jersey or Vegas where I live, and NO ONE comes up to me, and I call it what it is, no one cares. Out of sight, out of mind. So we do love the support......

Thank you for keepin' the bad guys in the sand pit havinfun1968. It's not easy and often it really sucks. I don't wear the uniform I just have been raised around them and married one (all Navy...we love are Marines). It is the little things that matter - a smile can go a long way.
