It's fast, all right. Try "Oscar Peterson Cubano Chant" (trio version with Ray Brown and Ed Thigpen), tho, you may find that one even faster, altho the speed is not sustained throughout.

It could be construed that a conductor organizes all of the charts, players, and compositions besides keeping and setting the tempo(s)...by the way, that's what dizzy is doing on this song (one he wrote) besides playing the signature solo. I think this must qualify/quantify him in some way as NOT stoopid.
