Quake 4 took place just hours after the events of Quake 2. After his escape from the Makron's satellite, he crashed down on the planet somewhere away from the action. Quake 4 sees the action from another marine's perspective, in another part of the city. There were after all hundreds, probably thousands of troops in the assault.

You can still play it without the CD. In fact, you can simply copy and paste the folder off the CD instead of installing it. The CD was only required to play the soundtrack.

There's a Quake 3 machinima movie called "Escape from the Bastile" that was released either before or just as Q3 was released.

they need to make a bad ass movie out of quake 2, make it look exactly like everything looked in the game and bloody as hell, and not make it shitty like the Doom movie was..... sometimes i think i might have to be a director cuz there are no good movies these days |
