Note the last car, the Audi: The "Procon Ten" (Google) retracting system for the steering wheel provided an excellent performance without airbags. Vorsprung durch Technik! Could any German speaker please illuminate us about what the speaker says?. This video is FASCINATING historical document. THANK YOU to the uploader.

Yeah not quite as bad now that I watch it again, but it still did much worse than the Mercedes, Volvo, or Audi. Closer to the Nissan.

Very cool, I recognize some of those cars in the US. The Nissan Maxima, Mercedes E-class, Volvo 760, Audi 200? Surprised the BMW did as bad as the Nissan.

Heads up! The test results are very interesting... I would love a translation :)

These were historic tests which actually took place in 1990 and were the first press released readily comparible offset tests across different makes in the world. The speed is 55kmh and the offset 50%. EURONCAP is now 64kmh and 40% offset into a deformable barrier. These tests helped begin the safety revolution of European cars in the 1990's. The Audi was a separate test in 1992 and showcased their Procon 10 system of the steering wheel moving away from the driver.

Can anyone translate the findings to english?
