using the ME is a pain. but you're right, it does exist.
you're right that the VFPU on PSP is more powerful, especially in its matrix support, but I think for a lot of float applications the iPhone's clock speed win helps more (i'm working on porting a very float-heavy physics sim app to iphone right now, and finding that the iphone is mostly faster except when apple's sdk has gimped it, although i was was unable to take advantage of most advanced vfpu features on psp, other apps might differ.)

you're correct about the iPhone having a VFP (which is the ARM name)- but it's not as powerful as the PSP VFPU.
GLES vs GU is not an matter of performance, the GU is more powerful period.
You also totally ignore the fact the PSP got 2 CPUs. |
