Interop Tokyo 2008にて、NTTコミュニ ーションズは同社と医療実務者とで共同開発した遠隔医療システムの展示を行いました。手術の指揮や医師のトレーニングを数千km離れた地点からでも行うことができます。システムは、「WarpVision」、「Video Annotation System」、「EDR1000」と う3つのコンポネントより構成されています。NTTコミュニケーションズ開発の「WarpVision」ビデオ会議システムは、リアルタイムの内視鏡手術トレーニングに最適な高圧縮・低遅延のH.264ビデオコーデックを利用しています。NTTアドバンステクノロジの開発した「Video Annotation System」は、注釈や注記 送信用ビデオに直接挿入することができます。NTT東日本・西日本の開発した災害復旧ソリューション「EDR1000」は、遠隔地癲癇のデータ蓄積とコントロールを安全なものとします。
