$3800/OBO - Make me an offer - I will consider all reasonable offers!!! I just had the vehicle serviced - see below.
At 225,000 miles the engine was exchanged for a rebuilt one. Therefore, only 10,000 miles on the rebuilt engine. I found the original Repair Order and the local repair shop that did the work can confirm this as well.
I am the original and only owner of this 1982 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. It has been parked in the garage for the last 5 years. I started it a couple of times but for the most part it has been garaged. This vehicle was never out in the weather even when I used it as a primary vehicle because at home it was in a garage and at work it was in a garage. You can tell by the condition of the interior dashboard, seats and carpeting (no fading or cracks). Around 2004/2005 I started working from home and I purchased a SUV for my wife plus other cars for the kids so this one got parked in order to help lower my insurance, fuel and other maintenance cost.
My original plan was to keep it, put a little money into it and bring it back to showroom condition but with a kid off to college, that's not going to happen anytime soon. Rather than letting it continue to sit, I've decided to sell it plus I need the garage space.
Mechanically the car is sound because I always had it serviced at the local Cadillac dealership or a reputable service shop as it aged. Cosmetically the car needs a paint job to put it back in "showroom" condition.
I just had the car serviced (June 2011) at Southwest Cadillac Service here in Houston which is an independent Cadillac/GM service shop who has always worked on this vechile once the factory warranty expired.
Reconditioned Fuel Tank, Fuel Pump, Fuel Sending Unit.
Changed all fluids (Oil, Transmission, Coolant) and checked A/C. All working OK.
New Master Cylinder and blead/inspected all 4 wheel disc brakes & pads.
Replaced Misc. Bulbs/Lights.
(4) Brand New 205/75R 15 Tires - Mounted and Balanced
Basically this is a 30 year old vehicle and the paint is what to be expected for a vehicle of this age. The body is perfect, no rust and the car has never been wrecked. In the late 80's the Cadillac dealership repainted the hood and trunk after someone scratched the surfaces. They did an ok job back then but as it aged the hood seemed to show spots and fading. The photos will show this. The leather seats have some wear primarily on the drivers side and would need to be repaired but the overall condition of the interior is outstanding considering 30 years old. Also, I did not smoke in this vehicle. I purchased it when I was single and two years later my wife drove it for a while until we purchased her another vehicle.
It is the Biarritz trim package with the stainless steel roof cap along with 70 spoke true wire wheels (those are not the Cadillac standard wire hub caps). The only change I made to the vehicle (and I really didn't want to but had no other choice) was the burgundy canvas roof. That's not vinyl ... it's the same material a convertible top is made from. The original top color was the same as the body (Red Cedar Firemist) but around 1999 it started fading. The shop could not find that color top to match the body. The only option was to match the interior with the canvas top. It's a good top with no wear or fading at all and easier to maintain (no vinyl top dressing). Just mild soap and water then let it dry. The trunk is clean, just like the day it came from the dealer.
If someone is looking for a nice Cadillac Eldorado, this is the one.
